This is my 2nd completed attempt at wrapping. I was going to do a smaller Pietersite cab that I had made but I sort of ended up wrpping this large Deshutes cab that I had made instead. This cab is about 23/4" wide. I think it is a little to big for the wire that used. I should have used more square wire I only used 3 square wires. I also think the bail should have been bigger but I already cut the wires thinking that I was going to wrap a smaller cab. I am starting to feel a little more comfortable working with the pliers. Still not ready to break out the real silver wire but I think I getting there. Thanks for all of the constructive feedback and answeres to my many questions. Stu Rear or wrap.

Great cab, beautiful material and scene selection. Your 2nd wrap attempt is light years ahead of your 1st. Keep up the great work! Missing a pic of the back...

Actually, I think the wire thickness isn't bad for the cab... maybe a 'fluffier' bail or something would've balanced the top a tad more. BUT DON'T YOU DARE REDO IT!! It's lovely as is (but if you do another larger one in the future, meatier bail - that's my vote).

Yes I agree with you about the size of the bail. As I mentioned I originally cut the wires for a small size cab but one thing led to another and before I knew it I was wrapping this cab. The bail is definately out of proportion for the size of the cab. Thanks for all of the feedback everyone. Stu

Actually, I think the bail isn't too far off as far as size. If you spread the wires, it might improve the look. This is a really nice piece. The stone is INCREDIBLE!!! What I noticed right off is something I always look at with new wrappers. I LOVE the way you turned you wire ends into the curls. It also looks like you cut the wire ends correctly. BRAVO! It's those little things that really add up to a nice polished looking piece. All you need now is practice, practice, practice.

The wrap looks awesome - especially for a beginner. The bindings are near perfect (straight and tight), no tool marks, good looking swirls and overall design. I agree with Tela in that you should spread the top bail wires and see how it looks.
Good Job!

Thanks everyone for all of your kind words and good suggestions. When I did the first wrap it all felt so awkward. I felt much less so doing the second one. However I now feel as if I am coming down with something. I find myself waking up in the middle of the night thinking about different ways to wrap a cab. Is this what they mean by feeling wired? LOL I definately think I caught the WWB (wire wrapping bug). Stu
