Hello RTH’er I had hankering to do some hearty combo’s I was always fascinated with how the mix of crayons Blue –yellow- green Created the various other shades Would it work w/rocks? ![](http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v497/stedmo/5rocknhearts21/blulowheart.jpg) ![](http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v497/stedmo/5rocknhearts21/yelleenheartbck.jpg) ![](http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v497/stedmo/5rocknhearts21/blulowback1.jpg) ![](http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v497/stedmo/5rocknhearts21/yelleenheart1.jpg) Maybe after the heats hang together for a while The colors will change? You do quality work, @mr.mohs. I'm curious as to what stones you used to makes those. Especially the pastel green...The dark blue looks to be Lapis?

Also, do you use an epoxy to join the two halves? Sorry if you've already covered this subject previously. ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png)

Thanks Washington I love covering rock’n heart subjects Yes. I’m using Epoxy 330 It dries clear, fast, and hard Incredible bonding and withstands heat pretty good. A epoxy that with a high heat index is important as one tends to heat a rock when buffing ect.. In the past I used E-6000 epoxy. That was also very good, with a high tensile strength. It already mixed which was convenient. One of the drawbacks is that it doesn’t dry particularly clear. Epoxy 330 is 2 part Not sure what the green stone exactly is. It is a popular rock tho. Beef had some that was similar and we were discussing it. A jasper most likely. Very fine grained. But I think it sedimentary type of clay. I think the blue is a sodalite. It really is really deep blue. Easily could pass for lapis. The yellow is some really fine jsaper a member sent to me a couple years ago. Some of my favorite rock. ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png) Thanks everyone!!!

Those are real beauties, mr.mohs! I really like the blue and white together, I like bright colors! But if you put them in a box, and looked at them again tomorrow, I think they'd still look the same. I mean, they wouldn't change colors - maybe. Who knows? Stranger things have happened...

well Hi Jean ! I’ve been waiting for you to respond
The yellow rock is from you ! From back in the Scott Murray days It some of my favorite rock The ‘lil sunny’ was made from that slab too! I still have enough to make a couple more
The interesting thing is that on back of the soda/yellow (3rd pic) the yellow jasper had crystal sheath. It pretty neat effect. Kind of like a doublet .
Always wonder what sort of atom exchange goes on in the rocks that are married side by side? It is heart after all. When I get the flat grinds just right-- the 2 stones stick like a magnet. Ya know… how 2 well planed surfaces magnetically attract to each other? Rocks want to go together baby!

Hi, Ed. What can I say, life gets in the way... Had to get new tires on the big truck (ouch!), and now cooling my heals at Ford dealer, getting oil changed, etc. Still have to do some homework, figure out what to buy to replace dead Ranger on driveway. Sharing one vehicle sucks!!
I don't know what the yellow rock is, but I thought it looked familiar, lol! I have more of it, if you like it, I'll send it to you. Then you can make more than just a couple.
Yeah, I wonder about that whole association thing, too. Guilty by association?? Can one influence the other?
How are you liking your flat lap, Ed? Makes for some nice flat join surfaces. Don't know how you could do that on round wheels.

O Jean I just invested in 60gr & 120gr s/c discs well there actually grinding wheels but only 1/2" thick I lay them flat on the Ameritool and boy doe they plane some rock! I never did buy the discs with the Ameritool and never had much luck w/ sintered diamond laps probably misuse but these wheels were bit expensive will last long time though and picks up production in the rock'n heart factory so your out spending your income tax refund? its always something unfortunately mostly

Spending my income tax refund? Ha! That was just the down payment for the tires, lol! Each tire lists at $204, lifetime balance and valve stems $16 per tire, plus warranty certificates (ALWAYS GET THESE!) about $30 each, plus environmental fee to recycle them down the road. And don't forget sales tax. Over $1100. But one of the tires was defective (developed a bump), so got that replaced for just the price of a certificate. The other three were price adjusted because they did not get the warranted mileage (only 22K when they should have gotten 50K). I got off easy for about $550. It always pays to take good care of your tire man!
When you have two different type rocks next to each other in a rockin' heart, can they change each other by - are you ready?
Os- MOHS - is?
