So, after the explosive thread about OSRS the other day, I just wanted to let everyone know that I received my order from Christopher today and am OVERJOYED!!!! For 40 dollars, I got 80 pounds of rough that is all very good quality. I ordered 20 pounds Snakeskin Agates and 20 pounds of A Grade Tumbling rough, and got 40 pounds Snakeskin Agates and 40 pounds of (tumbling rough and cabbing rough?) I have no clue what it is, but a lot of jasper, rainbow pet wood, and a whole lot of other excellent material!!!!! So his communication sucks and his shipping is even worse, but all in all for free shipping what am I to expect? All in all, I gave him top rating for material, but then poor for communication and shipping LOL So that being said, just be patient with him as I believe he has way too much on his plate all the time, but his materials are EXCELLENT!!! 40 pounds snakeskin agates!! $20.00 shipped!!!! 40 pounds cabbing/tumbling rough. $20.00 Shipped!! And here is the link to his ebay store. stores.ebay.com/oldschoolrockshop/

We are all glad that with some, maybe a lot of patience & understanding that the deal turned out just as good for you as The Old School Rock Shop. Looks like pretty decent material. Now you'll have to post photos on your projects. Thanks for keeping us up to date. Believe it or not most of us like to hear about stories with happy endings. ..... Ivan

When I sold on ebay I made up a spreadsheet to enter the description and the rest of the details on every item, with a spot to check off each item when shipped. How well you deliver to your customers is the only way you send the message of how important they are to you.

I bought something, took a week to ship it, what I got was definitely worth it. Left pos feedback today with a mention of the slow ship, notices that now there's 3 negative feedbacks and a neutral, not good. @oldschoolrs if you don't figure out a way to tighten up the shipping and improve your communication you won't last much longer.

UPDATE: ordered/paid a week ago, and quickly got an eBay reply that a USPS tracking number had been generated. Then nothing! When I track the number it indicates that the package had not been received by USPS yet. I will wait another day or two, but this is not looking good folks. I will keep you informed.

I believe there is a way to do that.like notifying your post office you've got a flat rate to be picked up,so they generate a tracking number but never pick up a package, like the dude called them then didnt have anything to pick up?ive gotten screwed on a trade like that.made it look like something was on the way but in reality they waited for my box to arrive to them, then sent a bunch of s;)t back.not that applies here though, just the false ship part. I sell on Ebay and I generate my shipping labels through Ebay. As soon as I creat a label the customer is automatically notified of the tracking #. However if I don't get my ass over to the post office with the package that is as far as it gets. Just a tracking# with no further information. When you sell on Ebay as a seller you are required to post in your listing your handling time. Often sellers try to game the system by generating a tracking# within their specified handling time period even though they don't actually ship the package withing that period of time. I hope you get your package soon. Stu

I also sold one ebay and many times (MANY!!) the "tracking" info wasn;t visible until AFTER it was delivered.
I knew I shipped but my client(s) thought I did not. Then the box was there.
Not saying that is the case here. Just sayin' it can happen.

Exactly what happened with me. He purchases the postage on paypal and prints a shipping label. As soon as he drops it at the PO and they scan it in you will see additional action in the tracking. I have sold a boatload on ebay and I always sent a note to buyers at the end of the auction to let them know when it would ship. A simple message like that works wonders if you are unable to ship immediately.

Another Update: finally opened an eBay conflict case and that got some action from seller. The pkg is now in USPS hands so I should get it soon. The seller apologized for the delay and kindly added some free extra material. I will wait to see the quality of material. As of now all I can say is I think it might be really, really good for the seller to just post on sales advert that it will take a couple weeks for him to get stuff in mail if that is true. If he only takes action when eBay conflict arises, then this won't work. Anyway, I will post more when the pkg arrives.

And I'm the bad guy for saying something when his first post was an add. Go figure.

I agree with Lee, communication is key. I send every customer a thank you message for the sale along with the tracking #. I send it in a message even though Ebay sends it when you print a label. This gives me a chance to interact with the customer and posibly generate another sale. It has been quite effctive, and the customers like the perssonal touch. Stu

I don't sell on ebay anymore, but on Etsy, I, too, will send a personal note after the sale to thank them and let them know that they will receive another message with tracking AFTER it has shipped. I can't tell you how many times people have written to say that they really appreciated it. As a buyer, I don't like being left in the lurch.
The guy who sells kaleidoscope jasper on eBay states all over his ads that he is a slow shipper. He tells you to expect it. You have the choice not to deal with him if it's a problem. It doesn't seem to hurt his sales, at all. People just want to know, that's all. I bought from him once and he is indeed slow. But, he sends extras to make up for it. Sounds like a good option for someone who knows he will be slow.
