The heavy one that turned your oil black is almost definitely franklinite (black), zincite (red), and calcite (pink). I'm pretty close to the Sterling Hill mine and every other rock up there is that mix.
I might be wrong about the zincite. The willemite from that location can look a lot like zincite. If you have access to a short wave UV lamp, its easy to tell. Zincite doesn't fluoresce, but willemite is BRIGHT lime green.
As a side note, it is very unusual to find franklinite outside of the Franklin, NJ area.

Nice stuff for sure! I think the one above the possible Arizona colored pet wood is also a piece of petwood. ?

Mark, thank you, I was leaning in that direction myself.Bla The outside rind of that one had lines on it that made me want to think it was some kind of pet wood. Thank you very much, blackout, I will look into that further.

As a side not, blackout, that particular rock was part of a collection of rocks I got down here in Key Largo. No telling where it actually came from. Now all I need to do is find a uv light to test it! Guess it's not the best for cabbing though?

It doesn't really undercut, and we get a pretty good shine using tin oxide on felt.
