Greetings This project is not yet finished Just got the wrap soldered I still need to drill hole in the cleave to set the eye pin bail That requires getting a 1m.m. drill bit Plus I’m hesitant to do that because soldered joint may give. Then I’ll be back to drawing board I was also considering just making a wire bail and soldering that on But my soldering skills are bit weak So the whole project may not be finished till Flag Day Thanks for looking! Ed

Thanks John!! Thanks ~Jan~
Its a unique wrap I'd like to perfect. I did some a few seasons ago and this is done with a new perspective
That double serrated wire (what the right word?) is expensive. A foot of the wire cost me 20 bucks. That piece is wrapped in 6 inches of it

bezel wire ! That's name ! That type of wrap kind of give the heart ennobling look Its fun to do. Bending those teeth over. Reminds me of setting a saw blade
I should have made the cleave in the stone deeper and the of the edge stone heart- thinner and flatter then the teeth would lay more crisp drawing board stuff...mostly
o that red agate jasp is from Duncan AZ called big red and reall nice bule dentritic I got form Rockaaxona thanks much ED

Ed, that looks great! Agree, the bezel wire gives it an ennobling look - like a crown! Hope you can figure out how to do the bail without harming it. Nice choice of mix and match stones, they go good together!

I love that gallery wire on the heart. It's so perfect and the heart is gorgeous. The 2 rocks are perfect! I think you will have to drill. Wouldn't the heart break if you tried to solder a ring on the wire?

Well ya see now that real interesting Tela The stone did get real hot soldering the joint Too hot! But that was from inexperience
One method was to keep the stone wet & reduce the heat
What the main concern on the rock’n heart is heat and the epoxy bond That combo is very bad.
So I think I could solder a bail on But that will be on another project
Right now the plan is to drill the soldered joint I actually already filed a hole in the gallery wire So in theory all I have to do is break through the solder hopefully all the holes will be aligned The stone is already is drilled
Do you think the solder joint will hold against the drilling?

Hi Roy yeah I started the bezel wrap at the cleave on the red stone- right side and worked the wire around the heart bending the serrated teeth into place then I soldered the meeting ends together
the stone was encased in the bezel wire when I soldered the joint

Yeah, since you already have a pilot hole in the wire, I don't see why it wouldn't hold. What kind of solder did you use?
