Does anyone know if the rock shop in El Paso, TX is still open? I went out there today and there is rock around the property, but it is all gated off and looks kind of abandoned. I called their number but didn't get an answer, but I also didn't get the "the number you dialed is no longer in service" automation. If it is closed, anyone know of any shops around El Paso? The closest I can find is out in Deming, and that's about 1 1/2 hours. I haven't heard back from the El Paso Gem and Mineral Society...so I don't have any local resources unfortunately

There are more, but you're going to have to use the phonebook and look them up..... Try the yellow pages...

Mario and the rest of his El Paso Rock Shop Crew do the G&LW Wholesale Gem Show circuit and other shows including some International ones. He usually does the Hong Kong show which was last week so that's probably where they were. Mario carries good rough and offers it at fair prices. Larry C.

I forgot to answer your other question about other rock shops in El Paso. Gem Center USA is located there. They do the show circiut too so I don't know if they will be open right now but here is a link to their web site. They carry some very nice rough too but are usually a little pricyer than Mario is. www.gemcenterusa.com/Larry C.

It's all good.I got a hold of the people from EL Paso Rock Shop. They are only open on the weekdays from 1100-1830. I'll be taking a trip out there today, so hopefully I can get some decent stuff to learn on! This is my first trip to a rock shop!
