Coming along nicely
I'm going to assume that you were aiming for an asymmetrical wrap. If you were- good for you, it really looks cool. No tool marks to speak of, YAY!!!
I know that you are sincere about wanting feedback. I know because you have taken in everything everyone has said and you are improving rapidly. So, in that vein, I will add some constructive criticism.
Your bindings can still use some work. (I'm noticing the top right side.) Since you are using copper and copper is soft, run your wire through a cloth abt 10 times. It will harden the wire to the point that your bends will be more crisp. They will look better and be easier to get right. Whenever you notice that you get a bad bend, undo it and do it again. Or, remove it all and start over. It isn't much wire to waste. Mistakes in bindings always show up like a sore thumb. Don't ruin a great wrap over a minute of correcting time.
Even though this is asymmetrical, I can still see that the top is off center. To help with this, take your stone, look at it from the back and use a sharpie to put a small tick at 12:00. Mark from the back because it is always easier to judge without the distractions of what's going on on the front. Rounds and ovals are the hardest to do for a beginner, in my opinion, because the shape doesn't give you any reference points. So, make some.
After you have a mark for dead top, bring your bundle wires up one bundle at a time and try to mark where they meet the stone mark. You can't always get it exact, but it is a very good place to start. You will have a better idea where to bend for the bail. A crisp bend will really help at this point.
When you do bring your top bundle up use your pliers to bend the bundle in very small increments to conform to the stone. That will prevent the wires from folding down over the stone like they are on the left of your piece. You wouldn't really have that problem with silver because it is harder. Copper is awesome, but you have to remember that it doesn't want to hold its shape. You have to put the shape in that you want.
Tape is great! I use a lot of it. But, something to keep in mind is that you can use temporary wraps, too. Scrap wire will help hold a bundle better than tape.
Hope that helped.
