I just, and I mean just, got this done and couldn't wait to post. It's a custom job for one of my dearest clients. My hand is still dirty from the los- deal with it. LOL! I thought you might be interested to see the idea sketch. This is what I sent her. I think I came fairly close. Have to polish, yet...

I love designs that compliment rather than compete with the beauty of a stone. This design does just that but yet also displays some real nice wire work. Please post a final picture when it is all polished and ready to go to your lucky customer. Stu

Thanks She wanted something different for a circle, so I came up with this. I generally hate to wrap boring round cabs, but this was ok- a little challenging but fun. Once I get the final pictures, I'll post one. You can't really tell in the pictures, but it is polished. It's copper with patina, which is what she wanted and I think a good choice for this.

I also like designs that compliment the stone - like this one! It's a different wrap but doesn't overwhelm the beauty of the stone. You're inspirational to me

Wow, that is beautiful. I'm amazed at how close you got to the drawn concept. Mine never turn out like I intend so I gave up sketching the design out aside from a little planning on the side wraps. Way to think outside of the box, or rather outside of the circle on this one.

Very nice!
It looks like the very dark stone had to be overexposed to show details. That makes the wire hard to read. Is it copper on black?
BTW nice work on a very difficult photographic subject.

Thanks The first pictures were done on automatic under bright halogen lights. The second pictures were taken in the light tent with white balance set. They are almost how I took them with few adjustments. I don't believe they are overexposed or maybe just a little. Notice that my nails aren't invisible- but the annoying thing is the light tent makes them look yellowy and they aren't. Kinda embarrassing, actually. LOL! Patinated copper tends to have a sort of glow in the light tent.
