I'm still practicing, the heat here has sapped my energy some, so doing one every other day or so. 3 of these were made with a specific person in mind, I find that helps me with the design. The other one was a learning experience. I had one other learning experience, but no matter what I fiddle with on it I don't like it. Will have to start over before sharing it here! The slab this cab was made from was ultra skinny, making the cab really thin. My learning experience for the week Crazy lace agate Back My mom fell in love with this Amazonite that I cab'd. Took me several weeks of looking at it to plan the design. Top swirls are 3-d, doesn't really show in the pics Back Hubby cab'd this fire agate - to keep the fire the dome isn't symmetrical, presenting some challenges. His youngest daughter claimed it, she's not into a lot of fancy work. Back Hubby cab'd this ammonite too. His oldest daughter claimed it, this one wrapped so smoothly I thought I was dreaming. My favorite of the bunch. Back Thanks for looking! Michelle

Apologies for the size of the pictures. Sized them down to 280 X whatever and they still appear huge. Photobucket and I have a long way to go apparently...

You've been busy! I like the first and last best. Were you nervous taking the pictures? Looks like your hands were shaking a little.

Thanks, Tela!
I only have a cellphone camera, it's acting strange these days. It takes it a couple of seconds after the click to actually click. In photobucket, they are crisp and small. Tech stuff...sigh
They were all taken at the same time and yet each pic had a different tone as well.

Practice makes one better. Looks like you are getting better with each one.

I think I like the Amazonite the best! But it's also the only one that looks like you could lose the stone out of from that big gap in the back. Maybe not right away, but sooner or later that cab is going to escape. Easy fix for that is to make a wire doodle or s-curl and wire it to the side of the frame and to the long back wire on the other side. 3-4 wraps with small wire is all you need to make it secure

Thanks wireholic. I did swing it around and around and tap it every which way. I'll go back and see what I can do.

I also like the Amazonite the best. For my photos I go w/ 640 x 480.

You should have fun in what ever you do, but when you get past the frustation of the wire working you instead of you working the wire, that is when the fun begins, enjoy making your creations. Good job. Tammy
