Ok, back from the gym and I'll try to finish up on the nodular Mexican stuff. More Laguna: An odd blue Laguna showing the curse of the Laguna agate the "Black Widow" Nice Lagunas are often spoiled by fractures filled with dark brown to black oxides. Parcelas: Another rough surfaced one that kind of reminds me of gray Laguna agate. Coyamito: Mostly pinks and reds. Mostly rounded with fairy smooth red/pink exteriors with little pinprick pits. Awesome agates! Luna Agate, the ocean jasper of Mexican agates. Full of eyes. Mostly purple but comes in whitish and pink too. Royal Purple Aztec Lace. Mostly a vein form but sometimes full faced nodular pockets are found. Crazy Lace (Laguna Lace). Another vein material that sometimes forms a pocket that is nodular. Oddball Agua Nueva with darker colors and huge eyes: They call these "fossil sponge" nodules. Not sure if it's a fossil pseudomorph or not, though they do look a bit organic. Nice purple agate inside and very hard and solid. Rare material, a Mexican Sweet Potato nodule. Guess you'd classify it as a type of thunderegg. Outside and cut open: This is just a tiny fraction of the nodules types that come out of Mexico and of course, types like Laguna Agate have a huge number of subtypes named for certain claims. Thanks for lookin.......Mel

Thanks Mel -- that's a really good reference guide. No kidding about the Black Widows! They can be heartbreakers.

Yeah. I'd lean towards a Casas Grandes as the exterior does look like it shows some green. Got to say though, that there are also gray Laguna agates and Arizona agates that I cannot tell from Casas Grandes without the green. Parcelas tend to be really rough shapes, often with ridges almost like they are vein nodules but then again, I cannot always tell them from Casas Grandes either except the ones I have do not have any blue or purple....Mel

I'm late to this party, but it was worth the wait. Great slabs!
