Really nice colors and patterns with a glossy finish. That second to last picture looks like a satellite's view of a hurricane.

That season is coming Carlos, lets hope this year's hurricanes are the size of that tumbled rock. Don't have many varieties of coral, that is what is called pin head coral. the corallites are the size of pin heads. it has wavy tubes and is of very high quality, a favorite with arrowhead knappers. it turns that deep rust red.

I like #8 best, great contrast. Rich That was a whole coral, about a 1/2 inch thick. under the black it is clear amber color. I think you can see it in the lower left hand corner.

Loving the coral but I like the black and white with the polyp patterns best of all....Mel Mel, I just discovered that the 12 mile run up the Suwannee River(elevation 40 ASL) to my coral holes is there for a reason. The river cuts along a high hill at every coral deposit in the river. About 9 places where the coral is in the river is a hill 90-110 feet above sea level adjacent Like clock work. Then started looking at topo maps and checking tributaries at those elevations and bam, there is the coral. 80 miles north in higher altitude Georgia the Withlacoochee river is peppered w/coral the whole way. that river is at 85 ASL. Right at the coral zone of 90-110 feet. The black coral is out in the center of the Suwannee and is or has been sitting in the ancient black muck. apparently staining it

Stellar contrast from the muck influenced corrals...awesome! That's not all it turns black And the effect on light colored chert and coral since this was crafted And fossil deposits in the middle of the river are black. the muck is apparently old
