One definition of hodge podge describes a mess or jumble. These grade way above that. The one in the 11th pic is my favorite of the group.

I am loving these posts, what an education! Are these pieces all from the same coral formation? Does the coral have a specific name and from a specific era? These are lovely in their natural colors... keep posting! (thanks)

These are lovely in their natural colors... keep posting! (thanks) They span from out in the ocean off Tampa to south Georgia. They are pretty much the same shallow water coral species and are different due to the microenvironment that they petrify in. And the collection sites are beautiful. So it adds to the fun of collecting it. Yes, they all did form in a later age. Some are as big as a washing machine.
