Self perpetuating plants from potted stock that were set aside to re-pot. These are micro-minature cattails and Aztec Arrowhead(lower left). Georgia clay is planting media dug right here on the farm. Clay is dug leaving a flat grade. Up to 1.5 acres terraced from clay removal over 22 years. Greenhouses sit on these terraces. Sprigging the tiny hybrid cattails Excess algae from well fertilized water. Aztec Arrowhead is leaf. Aztec Arrowhead bloom, accidentally introduced by ship with seeds on hull entering Savannah Georgia harbor from S. America. Aztec's efficient seed pod. Seeds out everywhere. Shallow rooted, so seeds can be cast in water and grown with deeper rooted plants for combo pot. Yellow Snowflake, another from Amazonia This canna is a cross of some orange hybrid and the US native swamp 'Canna Flacida'. Seeds out commonly in the wild. Tropical in Georgia and northerly. Fur balls to left are seed pods. Left of bloom is bud. Mighty mouse for digging clay for potting.

Pretty flowers, Carol really likes them, she is big into pretty ones here. Like that digger, here, I am the digger. You must be getting soft, that's the first time I can remember seeing your hand and not see any chew marks on them. Larry

absolutely no commercial grower can compete with the likes of you. - Free potting mix
- Cheap Labor (I happen to know he has a very efficient helper for potting plants)
- The plants reproduce themselves due to careful technique
- no expensive facility rent/lease
- no worker's comp
- nobody missing work for a hangover and messing up production pipeline
- the boss can fix anything (no outside contractors needed)
- Metro area very close by for easy access to clientele
I am sure there is more. You can match anybody's price and be more profitable. You are my hero Jim. I bow to you, the master. Obi-Wan-Jim Kenobi Nice plant selection too! wow [PS we need a skilled photoshopper to put Jim's face on Obi Wan Kenobi's body for future use. herchenx, grayfingers, bushmanbilly]

OH I forgot to ask What's the "fuggin'" story behind this monstrosity work of art? Love the top hat! thanks for the kind remarks Scott. Right place/right time/right man for job. Luck plays big role. that back hoe was sitting at a car dealership. I needed a digger. and that was the one. Had it 15 years. Used the heck out of it. It is long discontinued. Briggs Van Guard, Parker Hydrualics, parts easy to find. made in Florida, better for sand. Roof is by Jamesp. Used mostly for dumping clay on trailer full of pots with screed screen on top. Then rake the dirt in. Beats a shovel ! why that thing has double knuckles I will never know, other than increased reach Billy.

It is my firm feeling true luck is truly rare and that the most "lucky" of us actually make our own luck. It took some time, some ingenuity and some intelligent planning to make that luck happen The next owner of that property would NOT be as resourceful and could not pull of the same success. Thanks for the description of the sand excavator.
