I've been making these rock collages using a two part clear resin along with resin molds. I've made rock stands, coasters, pyramids and slabs using rocks and resin. What I need is your smaller broken slabs, cabs, tumbles, etc. that you have no use for. I'm looking for a good variety of colors. As a trade I'm offering custom hand tied fishing jigs and spinners that I make myself. I tie bass, crappie, panfish and trout jigs. I've been selling these on e bay for ten years but since I got started with my rock hobby every dime I make from jigs has been going towards tumblers, grit, rough, slabs, etc. I'd also be willing to trade some of these rock collages for more rock. I just finished a pyramid with over 25 different kinds of rock in it. If interested in a trade send me a pm. I can send pictures of types of jigs you are interested in. Send me your e mail address for that. I really need to figure out how to post pictures on here. I think I'll ask my daughter to show me. I know there are fisherman on here and I'm confident I have something for them, been tying almost 20 years now. I have enough jigs made to last several lifetimes. I need your smaller rock pieces and if you aren't interested in trading would be willing to pay for it as well.

A SFR box would be fine. What do you want in trade?

Looking great! You get the resin very clear. What a good way to display the small rocks without being affected by dust at all. I think placing a sphere or a pyramid like these above a light source would be interesting.

Adrian, I double mix my resin even though the directions don't require it. Just want to be sure everything is mixed properly. Bubbles are a pain and rocks are good for having unseen air pockets so I try to get them as smooth as possible. I use a straw and a mini torch to get most of those out.

Jim
I am new to this game, and find your resin pieces to be awesome. Would you be interested in a commission - say - a piece for me to put on my desk made with some of my first tumbles when finished, and of course some rock for you and payment as well?

junglejimHere is what I'm willing to offer.. I can gather up a few left overs mostly raw stones and send them to you.. seeing how I sold all my equipment and that I'm not into the synthetic or resin molds, No trade would be acceptable Unless you actually cut stones.. for the price of shipping.. I'm just needing a sphere and a wand cut.

braders, it's not a sphere. It has a flat back. I have thought about getting a half sphere mold and making two pieces and sealing them together with resin. It would probably be noticeable but might work. Stone Whisper, I don't cut stones but plenty on here do. Some do spheres, don't know about the wand cut but I'm sure someone that can do it is out there. Need to start a thread and ask here telling them what you'd like done and see will do it. I'd be willing to pay shipping on any stones you can put together.

I'd be willing to pay shipping on any stones you can put together. Agreed. Anything in particular that your looking for?.. more like stone chips?.. I was using a few very small stone chips to create gem trees.. but My hands no longer have the patience one would need to do this.. so I'm left with several small plastic coffee cans of a variety of left overs from seeded buckets during my time gem mining in NC. What I'll do is throw together one coffee can's worth of stones/chips and send that one. If you like that batch let me know and I'll pull more.

Sounds good to me, the more variety I have the better. Let me know what shipping will be.

Actually I'm a bit late.. seems the wife isn't willing to give up anything.. Not sure her reasoning.. but I was about ready to create one coffee can with a variety of stones.. when she asked what I was doing.. Needless to say.. the next time I will have to check with her first.. but if things change.. I'll be sure to post something of relevance.
Correction. Let me explain what she said when I told her what and how you're planing on using the stones.. Quote: "What?.. Your not going to give them these chips to put into plastic resin molds" end quote..
