In spite of all the recent trips and being in the Roy's competition I've had a batch of rocks rolling for a number of months, and I've been pretty excited about them. I've committed that I will start cutting any nodular agates that I tumble in half. I'd been noting that I tumbled and tumbled (particularly Bahia agates) and end up at a druzy center on a lot of them in my quest to get rid of all the pits and cracks. I felt like I was missing the best part of the stone and losing a lot of great rocks via grinding. I am happy I did this. I probably won't cut as many of the water line agates, but any that are solid or appear to have fortifications are hitting the saw from now on. There were a lot I was really excited about. A number of these were ones from Roy's competition batch that I didn't think were ready or had problems. I took a gratuitous number of photos of this batch. I was really enjoying all the colors and patterns and hoped to share a little of that through a lot of photos. Wow, amazing tumbles there John!!! The assortment is quite diverse as well, thanks for sharing!!

Some real beauties in there ... I think that halving or quartering nodules is the way to go ... almost always find something cool.

I've wondered about cutting nodules before too. It's good to hear that you're happy with the results, I might give that a try too. Those all look really good.
Numbering your pictures is a good idea too. It saves everyone a lot of counting if someone makes a comment.
