Howdy folks, Decided to do a little change up and start cutting some samples I dug in the old Sierra Jasper pit. This was also known as Hornitos Brecciated Jasper and the pit we worked was pretty much dug out back in the 60's except along one edge under a manzanita bush. Very solid jasper in this pit and so many patterns it was incredible. Thanks for looking.....Mel I guess you'd call this semi poppy jasper as it doesn't have a lot of real well developed orbs. This specimen is very hematite rich and the silvery areas inside the red are almost pure silicified hematite that usually polishes out real metallic. No cabs yet as this is a brand new type.

Nice hematite formations. Check color at bottom of right slab/top left slab. Striking in all respects.

gee that's a pretty one... love the lacy lacy white contrasted with the darker reds... sigh.

James: Yeah this one showed cool red poppies on the exterior of that one end but I was real disappointed to find they did not extend inside....Mel
