Howdy folks. Just had to finish up that one Sierra Primrose nodule cause it had at least two more great cabbing spots in it. Here are the last two cuts. Nothing left but a really pretty specimen....Mel These slabs are from another sample form a hilltop site that is now under a home. A darker breccia but I like it. Down the canyon towards lake McCLure, there is a massive monolith of this same sort of jasper the size of a size of a large home or larger. The jasper is so compact you can't even get a chisel into it and have to be satisfied with knocking hunks off one of the huge multi-hundred pound boulders that are scattered around the base of the mound. Not a good spot for me to prospect as the monolith is surrounded by poison oak thickets. Closer look. I wanted all y'all to see the neat pockets of sparkly blue/black metallic hematite crystals buried in pockets of clear chalcedony. This seemed to occur a lot on this particular hill.
