Howdy folks, just a few from yesterday as I spent most the day repairing my saw after a pulley/belt issue arose. Thanks for lookin....Mel More nails for blade sharpening: Like this one, real busy pattern and solid. Really odd kind of sort of poppy jasper from Big Sandy Creek near San Miguel, CA: Had a monster boulder of this in red and lime green that I didn't bring to Texas as it was simply too big to saw. Rio Grande Poppy Jasper from Eagle Pass, TX. Super hard stuff that almost made my saw fall apart. The dark areas are included specular hematite. What it looks like cabbed:

Great cabs. So exactly how many tons of material did you leave behind in Commiefornia?

Todd: I'm really not sure, but a lot. Passed on most to other rockhounds and the local Wiccans bought a huge amount for metaphysical use. Had a couple of big rock sales and Lowell hauled off a truckload for himself and the Ventura gem club. Kicking myself still for the stuff I forgot though. I left a huge boulder of Rose Garden Agate from Ludlow on my decorative rock wall up at the ranch, a huge block of Oaxaca travertine in my wife's rock garden and worse of all, a big hunk of really nice green Porterville Jade I was using as a stepping stone outside the kitchen, Too much to remember where I put everything. Fortunately, I remembered to dig up the big cache of silver rounds I had buried in the garden *L*. Forgetting that would have sucked. I did however, forget a rifle I had stashed in the attic of our old ranch house *L*......Mel

y'know what I hate about moving? when you go and look for stuff you had and remember after an extensive search that it is one of the things you left behind. Red and lime green... wish I could have seen that one! keep posting great pics. I love living vicariously!
