Howdy folks, Chopped through a hunk of one of my favorite poppy jasper varieties yesterday, Guadalupe Poppy Jasper from California. This is another of those banded types where the pattern changes as you cut through a piece. Here's a series of successive cuts.....Mel #1 #2, nicest part with lots of the red stuff: #3 poppies disappearing some: #4 Not many poppies but another band starting to appear. I'll turn this around and see if I can get more poppies from the heel.

each one interesting in its own right. amazing how much change in only a few inches of material. Even that last cut still has a lot going on. That was a really good piece. Don't forget to show the heel cut too!
