Hi all, I've had Malachite running in polish for 9 days, the 'generic' polish that has done a great job on previous batches of stones. The Malachite colors seem to be better clarified but there is practically NO shine on the stones. Should I continue running them in the same polish longer, or do I need to start them polishing again with something else? I don't have any other kind of polish at the moment, but I'm sure I could get some somewhere!
I'm depending on you guys cuz I have NO clue what I should do to remedy this problem. HELP!
Barbara

Whew! I think I've 'come to' now, but still a little woozy! ;D LOL ;D That stuff IS a little pricey, isn't it? John, I think your idea about pooling our resources and ordering in bulk may be a good one, but we are all a tad spread out, location wise, and who would ramrod this endeavor? Barbara

lets see if anybody else wants in and in the mean time ill look around see what i can find out for priceing the way i fig it everybody would hafta pay shipping that orders it on line so with it being sent to one person to send to everybody else wont make a dif if the price is right who ever does it would add initial shipping to order total then go from there ill look around and see if it will still be worth it ill try and check tomorrow

Buying in bulk is definitely the way to go, but the costs of shipping might bring the number pretty close to retail. I got 55 pounds of plastic pellets for a dollar a pound, about twice that after shipping, which is less than half of what the local rockshop wants for the stuff by the pound. You might try funnelling big orders thru a rock shop to get tax breaks.

SirRox, Funneling bulk orders thru a rock shop might be a great idea. Anyone know any rock shop folks well enough to ask?
In the mean time, I'm still just running my malachite in the same generic polish. Kinda like chicken soup....can't hurt, right? ;D

I found two chunks of it (2 1/2 lbs and 1/1/2 lbs)at the rock show in San Antonio that Llana and I went to a month or so ago, and paid $9.00 total for it. Just couldn't pass it up. I haven't busted up the smaller one yet. I've seen prices of malachite other places, and if I had to pay those prices, I wouldn't have any either! Barbara
