My son is a better carver than I am by a long shot. So, with a busted up leg and not a hell of a lot that he can do I set him up with some new tools and assorted alabaster. He has started a couple of things but is only showing progress on one. An octopus in amongst some coral. Today he mentioned that maybe he should get on the net and check out how their skirt is formed because up to this point he has not looked at any pictures. Say what? I have to transfer the picture from paper onto the stone before I start. He didn't even draw on the stone. Maybe it is easier when you are a tattoo artist. Jim Hope you enjoy.

Nice, he's certainly off to a great start.

Mixed feel about the transfer of images. Sometimes it works, sometimes it does not translate. But yes, have him practice anyhow he feels like. Obviously he is good at drawing in general, so he will be fine.

Well, great going. Hope he keeps with it. I'm not even gonna try that. Could never even draw a decent stick figure.

Haha love how you put that. Amazing what alot of tattoo artists can do just from talent, then to do it with stone??? Amazing!
