Location matters in this instance.. I have heard that west of the Mississippi River Thunder eggs can contain opal or be more of a solid opalized stone inside.. this appears to be one of these opalized thunder eggs.

Has the look of Cathedral Agate to me. Cathedral does come from a cavern formation and is almost always in stalactite/botryoidal from....Mel

did a lil polishing to see how it would look and wow was i surprised at what was under the shell looking stuff
