In addition to the flat from Maharashtra, India, I picked up a few other shelf specimens at the Parrsboro Rock & Gem Show. One vendor, “The Gneiss Guys”, had really amazing specimens at about 1/3 to 1/2 typical retail prices. Not sure how they do it, I’m just happy they do. Darryl. These are sweet, too! I think you accidentally left out the hemimorphite.

Curious.. When pyrite balls are split in half, do they make pyrite suns? Or are they two different things?

They are two different things. I believe pyrite suns are found in coal seams in Sparta, Illinois. These balls are from China and form in masses like a cauliflower.
I've never cut a ball. Not sure if it would appear as solid metal, or if there would be small voids between the crystals.

Wow, some really cool stuff there. Was going to make a feather duster comment but think I'll just let it go.
Nice pics.
