One of the local vendors at the Parrsboro Rock & Gem Show had some really nice material from Two Islands, Parrsboro, Nova Scotia. While middle aged, he had only been a “Rockhound” for a year. I think he is off to a good start, considering the score of Two Islands agate that he had for sale. This material was selling out at $10/pound. He found 600 lbs of this, but it took him 7 days to pack it off the island which is only accessible (by foot) briefly at low tide. If you are curious about the Bay of Fundy tides at Two Islands, scroll to the bottom of the page on this link … www.town.parrsboro.ns.ca/rockcliff-web-cam.htmlIf you are curious about this piece, it weighs 3.5 lbs. Should have been $35, but got it for $25 because of the wedge of basalt matrix where the seam runs thin. I should have wet it down, but there is a little residual mineral oil on the window. Darryl.

That's some darn nice stuff and a fair piece of work for him packing it out like that.

Man, I missed this one before. Really interesting piece. Looks very much like really nice flame agate which I guess it would be based on the pattern *L*.....Mel
