This is rock project and I finally got the rock slabbed This picture is of the rock as I got it I was stoked about the half heart shape On the right hand side. Wondering --if when I slabbed it--- Would the other half of the slab make a complete heart? Unfortunately the design didn’t go all the way through to the rock But I do have 2 designs I can work with. This oval elliptical design Or the dagger heart design. It’s a fine piece of Bruno, hard as dickens, & will be tough to set a tight seam on the epoxied halves. Plus I was planning on cutting into rock’n heart shape But I might opt for an oval. Any suggestion on which design I ought to pick? The oval or the dagger heart? Overall shape? oval or heart shape ? Anyway thanks for looking Plus the whole rock picture (top Pic) Is the true color of the Bruno. Mohs

Hi Ed! I would go for the heart. That would be your coup de grace. Can't wait to see it. I think any shape with that heart would be cool. It's a stunner rock!

This is something I been meaning to mention I discovered it while working with the heart halves --What I call angel wings Because as we all know When you put two angel wings 2gather You get a heart -- Anyway I was out fiddling with the 2 heart halves one day Putting them together in different ways And discovered that when you put them together in an opposing manner It makes an oval This just blew me away! I mean with all the sacred geometry I’ve studied ( not real seriously) I never seen a diagram of oval turned into a heart But sure enough it does take a oval Make it out of paper And cut it- at say-- 12 degree angle Down the middle Flip the pieces It makes a heart! All you have to do is put the cleave in. It’s a trip And yes I have taken stone ovals Cut them and made a rock’n heart EdMohs

For whoever is following the heart project This rock heart for you It came out really well Except for some snafu geometrically challenged Decisions I altered the dagger heart design Darn This the front of the design that I was trying to capture I cut off the dagger point Nonetheless a good heart stone Mohs

Ed, you are the heart maker, not the oval maker. That's a lovely heart! Glad you didn't torn a great dagger heart into something else.
Beautiful piece!

Wow, lots of goodies here. Sorry to drop in so late, was following via phone, but did not allow me to post or add messages for some reason.
While your intended butterfly would have been stupendous, the result is still extremely agreeable. Well done; keep them coming.

Gorgeous hearts, Ed! The Stone Canyon could almost pass as Noreena and love the patterns in it. The second one is rockin,' too! Wonder what it is?

Here’s a couple of my next heart projects I was trying to explain the schiller effect on the black rock. This pic shows it pretty good. The rock is real fibrous-- which I guess--- causes the schiller effect ? I thought it was some type of tiger eye but am backing off that claim. Would anyone like to hazard a guesses? The top black & white rock is deceptive. I was told it was diorite. It sure does look like it. But diorite is notoriously hard This stuff would scratch with a knife and grinds easily. Its full of a silvery-ish material that like mica Or it could be biotite which is part of diorite. Another hazardous guess please? If it polishes as I envision the 2herts will have blingading

Not sure what the material is that has freckles, Ed, but I think that the blue chatoyant material could be Hawks Eye/Tiger Eye? Very pretty!! Lookin' forward to seeing your next rockin' heart project when you have the opportunity to finish them.
