I am in search of a 5-6 inch high speed trim saw for under 200 bucks if anyone has one kicking around. Thank you,
Nick

If you can find an Ameritool used they are 4" but take a 5" blade too. New they are a little over $300 so used should be under $200. They are variable speed to 3400 rpm I think. High Tech the same speed for 4"/5"/6" saws.

do you mean blade RPM, or how fast it cuts rock?

Speed of cut on a trim saw is entirely dependent on the quality of the blade and the willingness of the user to wear the blade out faster, assuming the saw is set up right. I had a HiTech saw once with a brand new blade, any more than very light pressure guiding the slab through the blade would stall the motor even at full speed. I suppose it would have been ok for opal and real soft rocks.

I just sold a 6" trim saw at the Hermiston show for $150. I think I have another one in the shed if you want me to look for you.

At home depot i bought a cheap $99 tile saw by QEP, here is a link... the standard blade it comes with although thick is very fast cutting, this is my currently only trim saw. Tile sawI would say everyone should get this.

I have an old highland park 6"...or maybe it's a star diamond. I dunno. I'll have to check. It's beat up and doesn't come with a motor, but I'd send it to ya for a LOT less than a couple hundred. Maybe swap for something. Was gonna fix it up for myself, but stumbled on another one at a yard sale. -Mike
