First time I visited friends in LA (Oh God...way back in the 1970's) I was fascinated by the existence of oil wells, in a lot of places I never expected to see them. residential neighborhoods and along the freeways...outside LA also had windmill farms but that was in the 90's Some pictures, historical and current, of LA Oil Wells Charlie LA Oil Wells Pictures

Thanks for the link! I had my first visit to LA last Christmas and was surprised to see all the oil operations going on. I had it in my head the LA crowd wouldn't put up with that kind of thing. I love industry and think the urban oil wells look beautiful.

I love seeing oil wells,drilling rigs and pulling units in the sky......Second generation oilfield worker for over 22 years.... Third generation doing the work now and loving it too!! Thumbs up
Liking those old cars in the first photo--Thumbs up...Wonder how they get a "workover" rig into some of those units....Cool pics for sure...
