Thanks for all the pictures. They've got a lot of character, interesting shapes. What tumbling setup do you have?

I especially like # 4/5 looks like a bird wing. Not sure how big it is, but could easily see it as a pendant, just as is. neat stuff!

Thanks everyone for all the great feedback. I'm glad you all enjoy looking at my odd collections. bcrockhound , I have a vintage Lortone 45C and a 6inch PVC tumbler with a Harbor Freight mini grinder motor. Nothing too special. I've been using my homemade primarily for the grinding stages, then finish them off in the 45C. I really like tumbling these particular pieces because they have so many different variations of textures and shapes. jamesp that sounds like something I would love to do. Maybe once it starts to cool down a little bit. This heat isn't my friend and stops me from a lot of outdoor activities most of the summer(unless I can cool off, i.e. jump in some water to recharge my central nervous system. When my core temp goes up, my legs stop operating. I'll definitely run that by my wife and see if she would like to make a trip down there with me sometime.

I made a pendant from that feathery lobster claw. I found the grooves fit well in my fingers for rubbing so I made a necklace.
I have 2 more barrels going right now that just began their transformation. This new batch is of higher quality without so many pits. Ill be posting pics along their journey in a new thread.
