You tore up some digital film on that one. Frozen clouds makes fine sunset.

Beautiful! It reminds me of how much I miss those awesome sunsets I used to enjoy in Idaho. Here on the California coast sunsets are drab in comparison. Occasionally there's a beauty but often old Sol goes "plunk" below the horizon without much of a display.

WOW! Good thing we didn't see didn't see anything like that last night around here. I live a little too close to a high pressure pipeline. That looks like fire in the sky.

Thanks all! I have to give all the credit to the quality of my recent photos to the camera, not me. I recently bought a Fugifilm "Bridge" camera with 16MP / 30X optical zoom and am still shooting in the auto modes. This model is known for great low-light performance, which works well for me as that is the times I am most apt to find things I want to shoot. Only $165... The sunset is greatly enhanced by zooming in so much, as the field of view is ten degrees or less which allows one to fill the frame with sunset. It was cool, went from more golden to the fiery reds. I used the top of a fence post to steady the camera.
Ed, wish we could do a toast together, it is yummy, and potent. Here is a 'vintage' virtual toast for you, in honor of the mighty bean.

Blazing reds oranges and yellows against the black trees in the foreground ... beautiful! Very nice pictures. Don't give the camera all the credit you framed them.
Had a really inexpensive 35mm when I was a teen. At the minimum light where the shutter would actually open sunset pictures came out with some interesting color shifts. Red , orange even purple ... still have some of those pics somewhere.
