I sure do like working with copper! It's so versatile! I still have to tackle the one I did with the silver filled wire but that is one tough cookie! I think I will try annealing it again to see if I can soften it up some more. Perhaps I just didn't get it hot enough before & it was pretty tough getting it through the rolling mill & getting a nice imprint on it. The copper was much easier. Anyway here's the other copper fish pendant. These are a lot of fun!

Metal addictive Donnie. And you are making fine jewelry out of it.

Really fun stuff Donnie! Thanks for sharing it. One fun rolling mill project is to take two equal length strands of wire, secure two ends in your drill chuck, the other two in a vise. Twist them together to your liking, anneal then run through the rolling mill. Great for accent bezel work (not that I have had the chance to get that far with it) and the basis for the twisted wires in Russian Filigree (which I also want to do someday). Nice fishie

Very nice! How many times do you run the piece through the mill? Do you have to anneal the copper every time it goes through the mill? connrock

I ran it though one time, connrock. Judging by the stiffness of the copper I wouldn't try it again without annealing it again. Also getting it lined up again is highly doubtful, at least as far as I am concerned. Someone else might be able to do it but I'm not going to try it. I would & probably will, do so if I wanted to add an additional pattern to it. I've certainly got some experimenting to do!!!

Thanks,,,,I didn't even think of how you would realign it to run it through the mill again! Good luck and I think experimenting is a fantastic teacher! connrock

Hey Donnie- one tip for annealing, in case you didn't know it already- if you cover the silver with a black sharpie and anneal, the marker will burn off at about the same temp as annealing occurs.
Looks like you're having lots of fun!

It must be fun to catch the small fish and be a challenge to put them through the rolling mill
