Some fun agatized pet wood, love the grain in the clear.... This one was from Yellowstone cobble, wicked cool color tones... And last but not least, some fun petwood with a variety of color...

Looks like live oak county wood... lots of pocket rot and highly agatized.

I think the conditions for silicification may have been similar to that in Live Oak County... Catahoula Formation ash is largely responsible for the silicification down here... the remaining factor would be burial conditions. I think there was a large estuary near to Live Oak county as there is a thicker section of ash in that area... If you move eastward towards Moulton, you get agatized wood that can be almost completely transparent... (My favorite kind!)

Cheers Those found in the Laurel area..Got some more coming too,(so not found very far apart,by way of the crow flies)...Thumbs up You ever hunt the Terry area? Or the parking lot of McDonald's in Sidney??? Seriously that parking lot has some killer stones! I usually sent my wife in the store to order our food to go and I would walk the lot and find nice agates and petwood,jasper.. Never have been told not too!! LOL I think they could care less.........
