I bought a 1.5 lb rough-rock of this material at the SF Gem show weekend before last. The dealer told us that he collected it himself from a location in the Owyhee’s and that he was calling it Owyhee brecciated jasper agate. He only had a small bin of it and this was from the nicest looking rock in the bin. This stuff is seriously HARD hard, like Brazilian agate hard I kid you not. I had the vendor’s card so I contacted him after and asked about getting more – he said he has been back to where he found it once already and can’t find more but he will try again in a few months. Makes me wish I had bought the whole bin. I made this piece thinking I was going to sell it but under the bright light and my Optivisor during the wrapping process I discovered that I hadn’t gotten every scratch out – I told you it was hard as a Brazilian. Of course my honey was thrilled to hear I wasn’t going to sell it and she had a chain on and was wearing it proudly a few minutes later haha. It really is a gorgeous pendant in every way. Thanks for looking. I have more slabs I’ll try to take a picture of later. Tommy

Wow!!! It's kinda like a cross between cherry creek and picasso. Amazing! You framed it up well. I'm not surprised it got snatched up.

Oh my word!! What kradz89 said, looks like stained glass. Beautiful material, cab and wrap A++ all the way around.
Tommy, take note. When people have only a small amount of something killer like that, you need to get every single morsel you can afford to buy! No excuses.
Seriously, that is some killer stuff. I hope he can find more.
Yay for you, Eva!

Looks like stained glass! Beautiful stone and excellent work on the shape of the cab. Cool wrap too! Seems like it could have appeal for either sex to wear it.
