Hi All,
Typically, my slurry in rough stage (using a rotary tumbler) gets thick after about 2-3 days. I just did a clean out and fresh re-charge on my rocks (in rough stage 80 grit) and I added some tried slurry chunks to the mix. It seems to have worked - in that it made my slurry thicker faster than otherwise.
Do you guys also do this, and have you experienced the same results?
Thanks for all your thoughts.
Sak...

it will really do that with soft rocks. Not on agates or quartz minerals. If you are tumbling w/just grit + water + rocks. Yes, adding dried slurry will thicken the slurry. I add soft limestone to do the same thing.

I have used dried slurry before, it works, and I have used kitty litter. James

I haven't tried it but some folks swear by it. I go with a minimum amount of water and get a good slurry fairly quickly. Might try it some day to see if there's any difference.
