Better to do as you were advised. I'm certain it isnt what I am seeing, first its not bubble top. Some bubble top gives off this effect after cutting from layered chalcedony. www.glypticconcepts.com/turtleback.htmlI like to break rules though. If something like opal may be inside, will it show when the light is behind it? You should also see opal on the outside if it is that. It would depend if it's clear or a solid base color of common opal. That looks to be solid white "something" clinging to the sides. Calcite maybe. But not opal.
