Bought this one from a local collection in Redmond, OR. They said they hounded most of the material they have within a 20 mile radius, no idea if it holds true to this. Really love the material though

Kinda looks like spirit stone/Yavapai Travertine, electricmonk. Think the spirit stone is found in Arizona.

Softer material as it's a calcite onyx. Cabs quite well though it will fracture if overheated on the polish pad. Black dendrites are silver rich I believe, as it is from the area of a silver mine and those dendrites do tend to be a bit pitted or undercut in some cases. In jewelry you must be careful to use in in a piece that does not get much abrasion as it scratches up and the finish dulls real easily. Belt buckle stones definitely out..Mel

Belt buckle stones definitely out..Mel Cool, have a nice idea for a necklace made out of an assortment of cab sizes. Was planning on doing it in silver so that should work spiffy. Matching earrings. Of course this is all in my head, actually getting around to it might take a while yet
