Male dragons seem to call it quits late summer. If he has plenty of body weight and breeding season is over he has no biological need to be awake. Breeding season begins in February.

Your pet wood appears to have few fracures compared to the norm. Could it be that you dug for it to get below the weathered stuff (it seems to clean for that), or you worked very hard and were very selective. Beautiful stuff and certainly colorful to a New Mexican used to browns, and subtle reds/yellows. Keep on keeping on. Tom

That makes a lotta sense, thanks bud! Peruano there was definitely a lotta digging involved! I was hoping for softer ground up there but it seems they didn't get the bounty of rain the rest of the state got this summer. I've seen some fairly colorful NM wood, guess it all depends on what region it's from eh?
