Labor Day weekend Christa and I took a trip up near Holbrook for some petrified wood hounding. Here's a couple pics she snapped

A train load of tanks along the way

Happy hunting grounds

Spent the morning finding nice colorful wood, had a nice picnic lunch, then hounded some more until the early evening. It was a blast!

Here's what we found

some misc

a neat little agate

and a couple other fossils

maybe a scallop imprint?

a neat chain coral Christa found

Gorgeous rainbow wood, but the fossils are killer! What both Spirit Stone and Ed said, that chain coral is suggestive . (I think all of us have our minds in the gutter, lol.)

Do you always take this many tanks with you when you rockhound, or only when looking for wood? I guess I will have to get a tank.

Thunder69 I think I might have left a few pieces out there.. just gonna have to make another trip

@shotgunner yes great word, and I think it fits. Our beardy is brumating right now and has been for the past month or so. Seems like a strange cycle as he snaps out of it in late winter.
