I always thought Listwanite had Mariposite as part of it's makeup but was a harder more silicified stone. The Mariposite I've collected is mixed hardness but still pretty soft stuff and I'd kill to be able to get a polish on it as nice as on that sphere.....Mel I had (gifted to a friend) a 4" example and it polished the same. I used tin oxide. Both listwanite and mariposite were pretty soft. Softer than marble. Unless there were quartz stringers. I was careful to not over grind and successfully avoided undercutting on that one.

I'm pretty good, usually at the seeing the heart shape I missed that one it sure is excellent
maybe I was blinded by the thought of gold in them thar rocks ? mostly

the rock is yours has been since you said you wanted it.. cptbob that box looks good....100.00 value is very very high for the mariposite..i was thinking 25.00 at most...ok, so send me your address via pm and we can get this deal going...if you have more pyrite and some bigger pieces i would be interested in trading for them..i have all the other stuff..
