Looks like South African blue swirlstone but it's not agate hard as it's a mix of feldspar, sodalite and some other stuff....Mel

African blue swirlstone, eh? : )
The quicker fouler upper – don’t cut it while the oil in the saw is still pretty clean. Wait till you’re ready for an oil change.

Blue swirlstone’s a legit material from southern Africa, imported by RTH’s Rockyraccoon (and also several others) back in 2005. Still have the remainder of a thirteen-pound chunk downstairs.

we think we have located and id'd the rock as amethyst sage agate from Denio, NV : ), which makes more since..the collector was never in africa...lol.. but was all over the western states..

*L* Yeah, it's not like rock collectors ever buy rocks from foreign countries at shows or rock shops. Very unlike any ammy sage I've ever had in my saw, as ammy sage is very translucent and often dendritic, but almost identical to blue swirlstone. Frankly, I would not even classify your specimen as agate. Might be Bertrandite though. it sometimes has that look to it. Henderson Purple from Nevada is also a possibility and it is vein material but I've never seen the orangey color in it. My specimens of that material are pretty much all shades of purple..Mel
