Can I put a 7 inch diamond wet saw blade on my trim saw setup? I think the motor runs 1725rpm and the blade has a max of 5000rpm, but will it run good at the lower speed?

What is you trim saw setup? What size? Room for blade? Any pulleys changing RPM?

What is you trim saw setup? What size? Room for blade? Any pulleys changing RPM? I have a Rock Rascal model J setup which consists of a water well, top half, blade guard, small pulley near blade and large in back. The hole on top only measures 6.5" so it looks like I'll need a 6" blade not a 7".

You are correct, the Rock Rascal will only take a 6 inch blade max. With a 1725 RPM motor I use a 3 inch pulley on the motor with a 2 inch pulley at the blade for about 2500RPM at the blade on my 6 inch trim saw.

I had a RR for a while. I had best results with a 303c, but I also did OK with a Gorilla Blade. My hand is heavy, so the thicker 303 worked best for me.
I agree you can push the speed a bit. The newer steel blades perform better then when a lot for the speed charts were made.

You will need 1/2" arbor size too.
