I have been blessed by knowing so many great people here! I wanted to pay forward some of the kindness shown me, but I don't have a lot of rocks to go around. I have to buy slabs. Still no big saw.... Anyway... I shared this with 2 people before and thought what the hell, why not just share it with everyone. BUT, posting images on this board is a PITA and there are lots of images. So, I posted it on my blog for you all especially. (It might load slow- lots of images.) I hope you can use it and I hope that you pay it forward. Thanks especially to my friends Jean, Tommy, Brady, Ed, Chuck, Mel, Debs (both of you), John, Scott, Jim (both of you) and all of the rest of you! You've all been so great about sharing. I am humbled to know such a great group of people. Woven Bail Tutorial

OH WOW - that's awesome! I never thought to bend the outside wire like that to keep them from tangling! Smacking myself in the forehead! Sooo obvious now that you pointed it out LOL!
Funny thing - one of the FB groups I belong to has been having a big discussion on the difficulty of finding quality tutorials. And how hard it is for beginners to know the difference between good techniques & bad. Would you mind if I steered those folks to your blog?

Maybe, I should start selling them again! LOL!

Awesome tutorial Tela. Having these wrapping nuances clearly illustrated is priceless! I hope you make your older tutorials available again and maybe make some new ones. What I like about your tuts is they are clear and concise and leave nothing to the imagination. Leaving out the imagination could be detrimental to the advanced artist but is key for beginners. Your cabochon wrapping E-Book is an incredible piece - I think it's the best available on the subject. Thanks for the knowledge.

Thanks Tela. Your tutorials are just as meticulous as your wraps are. I might have to order some 28 gauge copper wire to give this a try. Are there any issues weaving the bail if square wire is used on the mains or is it better suited for round mains?

Chuck It's a little different with square because the weave wire doesn't slide as much, but it's doable. I prefer round- buy that's how I roll. Try it. You can do this 26 or even 24. I've done it with 22, also. But, 28 is good to start with.

Cheers Funny you should say that about the fingers.... I can only manage to do woven bails. Weaving really hurts my hands and fingers a lot after awhile. I have the deepest respect for people who do a lot of it. There's no way I could ever do some of those intricate pieces.

Now I know why I make spheres. Only one side to worry about. Wrapping has a lot to be concerned about. Your tutorial broke my brain. Thanks. Sincerely, thanks for the kind words.

You make it look so doable Will have to try it, bails are my least favorite (and therefore the least polished aspect) part wrapping pendants. Thanks so much!!
