What do you think about the little Keene dredge Geoff ?? www.keeneeng.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Product_Code=2004PJF&Category_Code=I got one a long time ago and removed the sluice and replaced it with a basket for sucking Florida sand and spitting out arrowheads and fossils. That little Honda motor is a fine machine. Use it all over the place in my water plant biz. Man that thing can pump some high pressure. It is so light weight, seems like it would work in your Alaska creeks. I converted mine from a 2 inch to a 2.5 inch. You can shove the hose down in the sand as about as fast as you can feed it to 6-7 feet deep. Once it hits hard bottom the artifacts and fossils start coming up. Dang Florida enviro laws have stopped such 'silting'. Man that thing vacuums out nooks and crannies. Still use it occasionally on private property. |

Looks like you had a great day with the highbanker! I noticed your using carpet instead of miners moss. I wondered if there was much of a difference between the two. I use the carpet myself.

trip down to Hope on Sunday. Not great for my elbow, but found some good gold. As soon as I parked and got out of my truck I heard the left tire on my trailer hissing. Of course I don't have a spare. Said eff it and went up river and started digging. Moved some big rocks and got on the clay real quick. Found a nugget on my first clean out. .2 grams! Made a quick video too.
