Will you try to find out who it belonged to? all I have been told is that it is likely a sauropod, which is the plant eaters. I emailed a guy here in st Louis that is from taylormadefossils and he said it is impossible to I.d with just this vertebrae. Who knows....

Glad those things are not in the woods anymore, who would be safe. Must have been another world. Is that your deer in the background Brad ? It looks like the trees to the left have had their lower limbs browsed by deer.

That thing is awesome. You ever get tired of it I know someone who'll take it your hands .... will do. I got it from an older couple that live in Salina, Utah. They arent into 'rocks' and it was the wives grandfathers dino bone. She said she remembers it as a little kid and that it was found at least 60-70 years ago. Scott Nelson from Escalante rock shop emailed me a few photos of it. The couple stopped in his shop wondering what it was. They didn't even know it was a dino bone. They also have that cool septarian nodule that looks like a turtle that I showed pic of on here. The husband said for 30+ years that he told everybody that it was a fossil turtle. He didn't actually know it was just a mudball with calcite in it. lol

It looks like the trees to the left have had their lower limbs browsed by deer. yeah that's one of them bow targets. Havent seen the deer much because the corn is up. There are 3 little trees behind that deer target and every year the deer eat the new buds off of it. Bastards. The trees wont grow anymore. Ive seen the deer nibbling on them more than once. There is an old dead willow tree in the pic also that the deer loved to eat. Don't know why. I guess when your hungry you'll eat anything. They were out right in front of the house every night this last winter eating acorns. Im talking 20 feet away from the house and a herd of them. Every night. I could hear them popping and crunching the acorns. They had the ground tore up trying to find them acorns with all the snow we had last year. Neighbor has the same problem. He planted a bunch of trees and the deer wiped out a good portion of them. He just left them like I did.lol

That's about the coolest garden stool, foot rest, bird bath(?) that I ever did see. I have a tooth, but the vertebrae really puts the critter into perspective.
