I haven't been out in a long while and was getting Grumpy, so my husband says. so we went out to the Badlands my nieces fiance's parents own lots of land there to hunt rocks on the I think Little Missouri it runs by their ranch. I had a blast I hurt like heck but was definetly nice to get out the four walls were getting to me I guess. Well here are the pics. The river The veiw from the hill my neice took me up one of my favorites I have a lot LOL some crystally stuff some or all looks like Mica to me Leaf fossils she dug out for me [URL=http://s1169.photobucket.com/user/Tormaschy1/ media/20141008_165756_zpsd332dd0d.jpeg.html] [/URL] Some of my favorites All my favorites together Ying and Yang rock I found my husband named it Iron or what looks and feels like iron to me Agates and everything else I'm not sure what this stuff is but there was lots of it banded Pet Wood Something just plain strange I posted this in the fossil section already Cprolite well I hope you all enjoy the pics I know I had a great time.

Wow! That panorama view is breathtaking! Looks like a nice haul, too. I like the turd the best- it looks just like a .... turd. LOL!

Looks like a good trip, and a lot of finds, thanks for the show. You didn't say what "cut and prep the leaves" means. With almost all the plant fossils we find, the matrix can be cut with a tungsten carbide grit blade in a hacksaw frame. The blades are available at hardware stores, and are made to fit the frames. Some we put in a display case in the house, and some I mount in shadow boxes I build.

Thanks for the info Quarts. I don't know how to make them nice to display them without ruining them. is there a video on youtube

Nice haul,Beautiful country...Your iron stones are hematite ..A type of iron still ,but prettier when polished....John
