OK , I have finished my 40 day and 40 night cycle..my rocka re shiney and candy like :-) what does the burnishing process do for them....I suppose using borax would be best...but if they are already shiny and pretty..what does it do Thanks Dwight P

Dwight, I think mainly it prevents lay-offs at the soap factory. ;D I didn't do a burnish on the batch I finished either. I was going to, and hold out half a dozen pieces just to see if I could notice any difference, but they got snatched up too quick to have a big enough load to run them again. I have heard that it is good for removing any residue left on the from the polish also, but I hand dryed and cleaned each one with paper towels anyway.
