I got three slabs with orbs and three more with a cool swirl pattern that will yeild a cab each from that chunk. Pretty cool for a piece rough I found, with the help of good friends..... I have some in the tumbler as well, a few more in the queue for the saw and several more buckets of rough to work thru this winter. As far as cutting goes, most are more qualified than me. But from what I have been told nodules with a little bit of opal showing are the better producers. Seams can have good color and swirl but likely not the orbs. As far as orientation goes, just try to read the rough and signs it shows then hope for the best. I like cutting the smaller nodules in matrix, you can bust some off to get better orientation in the vise. Glad you all enjoyed, cheers.
