There is a rock maybe 50 pounds plus that I am going to get soon.

True! This is NOT Picasso Jasper. It is a whole 'nuther thing. I'm not sure what it is, but I am doubting it is jasper. It doesn't seem hard enough.

Some of the veining reminds me of stone I found on a Northern California beach between Santa Cruz & Half Moon Bay. It looks very much like Travertine marble. I did two fireplaces with it. I cut some of the thicker stones in half to make them shallower. I'd love to find out where it originated. Atlantis? Lynn
