Hello... I am a new member of this forum, and glad I found you! Thanks for all of your expertise, advise, and information. Any ideas as to what this jasper is called? I collected it personally in SE Idaho near the continental divide.

brecciated, the close up shows some nice whorls/circles in the gold. Very interesting. Think there is more like it out there? I love brecciated stuff. Welcome to the forums!

I was pleasantly surprised when I cleaned off the slab! It is a creek find in a glaciated area... but I have picked up several pieces. I will post more pics when I slab them.

Welcome. What is the hardness like? Have you tried scratching it with steel?
