Howdy folks, Had this one sitting around since last year, Some kind of rhyolite from the Eagle Pass gravel quarry. Rough looked very much like dino bone on the outside, inside a lot like the Strawberry Jasper from up at Hunters Valley. Only maybe mohs 5-6 though. Super easy to slice and it seems to sharpen the saw blade a bit too. Unfortunately, though I cut five slabs, I never did get out of the fractures so will have to use the Morgan Hill Poppy technique and drop the slabs on a soft surface till they break and save the solid pieces for cabbing or tumbling. Quick pic, overexposed as my camera usually does *L*.....Mel
