WOW - those are cool! I wonder if Donna ever saw your version. She did a little stitch around the edge to keep a channel open for the stone. Yours looks easier, but I've tried it before & I know it's anything BUT easy! I usually do filigree for an open frame

The complex styles you come up with are stunning. I like how this one still allows light to enter the gemstone from all sides. Sweet!

I had them on my website for a long time, too, and I think on my blog, but I'm not sure. The images have 2012, but I believe they were done 2011, at least that was my earliest photo of one of them. I saw Perri's latest and it is definitely the same kind of wrap. That's what reminded me of these and got me to thinking of the design again. Yeah, it's simplicity is very deceptive. I'm not even sure I remember how to do it. LOL!

lovely- I like the contrast between the texture of the wrap and the stone.

Those are cool! I'm not able to imagine how you could keep the face and back frame wires in place as you wove the side wires, any pointers or tutorials? What keeps the stone from falling out the front or back? (obviously the sides are wider than the frame, but what "grips" the stone to keep it from moving from front to back?
I guess I'm really asking if there is a tutorial anywhere for this. I have faceted gems and was trying to get metalsmithing/jewelry making lessons so I could set them but that sort of fizzled and I keep coming back to wire.
Really nice work on these.

Beautiful. Most beautiful wrapping I've seen. A tutorial would be wonderful.

This is a cool wrap Tela. I've tried one like this and had troubles keeping a consistent space between the frame wires. Any pointers?
